You are warmly welcomed to the upcoming meeting of Burgundy Citizens Association this Monday, May 19, 2014. We start with our annual Plant Exchange, at 6:30 p.m., and our meeting is at 7:30 p.m. It’s all at the Burgundy Community Center, 5516 Norton Road. Everything will be over by 8:30 p.m.
This is an important meeting. We will be hearing about three matters you all need to know about.
1) Traffic Calming.
We have a report from the Traffic Calming Committee, based on meetings we’ve been having with Fairfax County officials. We want to tell you all about it. Traffic calming will affect every Burgundy area neighbor, so come and hear what’s going on.
2) Neighborhood Sign.
We have news to report on the idea for a neighborhood sign. We finally know how much money we have to work with, where the money comes from, and the conditions we have to meet to get the money. Everyone, please come. We’ve learned there are some choices to make about timing. Because of the various agreements now in force, we may be forced to choose one of these projects over the other. We’ll tell you all about it.
3) Burgundy Farm School Construction.
The Burgundy Farm Country Day School, our close and friendly neighbor, has now (finally) broken ground on their summer-long construction project. They are doing environment-saving and child-playing improvements over the next three months. Their plans have received final approval, and the results will directly benefit the neighborhood. Come out Monday to find out how.
Before the Meeting — Plant Exchange!
About the Plant Exchange: if you have some yard plants that are taking over but others might like, dig ’em up and bring them for others to enjoy. There will be lots of free plants for you to pick up and enjoy. You do NOT have to bring a plant to receive a plant (or many plants)! The Burgundy gardeners are eager to share plants and knowledge with you! So come for that at 6:30. Do come! But if you can’t make the plant exchange, come for the meeting, which starts at 7:30 pm.
